Can self-esteem mediate the association between social support and different levels of physical activity in adolescents?

The aim was to analyze the mediation role of self-esteem in interaction between social support from best friend, friends, and parents, physical activity (PA). Participants were N=444 adolescents both genders (male= 205), aged 12-18 years (M= 16.02; SD= 1.57). Structural equation modeling, serial multigroup analysis used test proposed hypothesis. Self-reported instruments collect PA self-esteem. Self-esteem mediates partially different supports vigorous PA, independently adolescent sex. Interestingly, fully mediating parents’ female adolescents. In contrast, revealed no light moderate PA. conclusion, relationship strength is higher girls than boys, when came parents.
